I find myself in the same situation as you sometimes - not having the time to 'get my hands dirty' due to admin work etc., and it does get to me. Sometimes it's good to step back and look at what we do - we really are part of an amazing profession. Anyway, I have just ordered the book and I'm looking forward to receiving it. I agree with what Robert Young says about 'How to be a graphic designer without losing your soul' - that's a good read too, well worth checking out. Thanks for your post I too can relate. Just recently I discovered your weblog and I'm glad I did. I can relate to this entry as well and I only finished art school 4 years ago. Sometimes I too forget about the passion for design and creating things that made me choose this profession in the first place. Anyway- I think I'm going to buy the book :-) Hello! I've been a designer fulltime now for 5 years and I'm finding myself sometimes in a very negative place lately, but I cant really put my finger on why this is. I have tons of work and proud of most of the work I'm doing. Maybe its the 5 year cycle. Anyway I ordered Stefan Buchers book. You sold me on it, thanks! Eric, I can relate to your post in many ways.
