12. Dye your hair

Months ago I was unemployed, had no experience, and looking back had no skill. However, I worked my butt off to actually pull off steps 1-9 and landed a job. I only found out after that it was number 12 that sealed the deal.

I knew that the odds were against me and had almost given up hope. With the prospects for an interview, and hence a need for professionalism, dim I decided to do something totaly out of character. I dyed my hair BRIGHT red. The next day the call came for the interview; I was horrified!

Alas, there was nothing to be done but put on my suit and go to the interview. To my supprise, I was called back for a second interview. And then they started asking questions like, "So when can you start?" So the moral of the story? Don't be afraid to show your creative side. That is the job you are being hired for!
